The international premiere of the documentary SOMETIMES I DREAM I`M FLYING dir. Aneta Popiel-Machnicka will take place at the SLAMDANCE FILM FESTIVAL.
The 20-th edition of SLAMDANCE FILM FESTIVAL will take place from 17 to 23 January 2014 in Park City, Utah. It is one of the largest independent film festivals in the U.S., held for years in parallel with the Sundance Festival. SOMETIME I DREAM I`M FLYING appeared among 18 most interesting film images (10 feature films and 8 documentary) selected from more than five thousand films. WORLD WITHOUT FICTION is a premiere band presenting Polish productions and foreign license films. Movies depict social issues, universal problems of the modern world, but do not avoid more difficult, often controversial issues. |
Since 2009, East Silver - an initiative Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) in Prague, has been recognizing the best films of the market with Silver Eye Award. The idea behind the award is to attract attention of industry professionals to new interesting films from Central and Eastern Europe, and to help nominated films to find sales agents, broadcasters and festival releases.

The movie SOMETIMES I DREAM I`M FLYING will be presented during the SOPOT FILM FESTIWAL withing SPECTRUM: ART AND MUSIC section. There are 6 films in the film review, among others SUGARMAN, dir. Malik Bendjelloul, LOVE - a documentary about the band, dir. Filip Dzierżawski and video clips by Anton Corbijn.
The projections will take place on Thursday, July 18, at the National Gallery of Art, Spa Square 2 in Sopot. You are welcome! |
13th May 2013 will be the pre-premiere screening of the film SOMETIMES I DREAM I`M FLYING. The screening and meeting with the artists and main actress, Weronika Frodyma, will take place at 20:30 at the Warsaw Cinema KinoLUNA.

The World Premiere of the our film SOMETIMES I DREAM I`M FLYING will take place in the 53rd International Krakow Film Festival. The screening will be on 1st June 2013 at 12:30 in Cinema Kijów.Centrum and 29th May 2013in the Cinema Mikro. After the screening, in Cinema Kiev.Centrum, the organizers have planned a meeting of artists with the audience.
The Krakow Film Festival is one of the oldest events in Europe showing documentaries, animation and short fiction films. During the 7-day Film Festival there will be the opportunity to see around 250 films from Poland and from around the world. There will be films from the competition section as well as special showings, such as retrospective art films, thematic films and archival films. The Festival offers exhibitions, concerts, outdoor showings and meetings with the artists. Every year around 500 Polish and international guests attend the KFF: directors, producers, programme editors as well as the Krakow public (information available from the 53rd KFForganisers) |
On the day before Christmas Eve we recorded the film score, composed by Rafał Kulczyki, for the film SOMETIME I DREAM I`M FLYING. Even though it was very cold in the studio, in fact the heating had broken down and it was freezing cold outside, the musicians were heated by the artistic atmosphere and, of course, warm clothes.

On Wednesday, 9th January 2012 at 8.15 and 17.00 Channel TVP Culture broadcasts the documentary LOVE EUROPE THE WORLD OF ZYGMUNT BAUMAN directed by Krzystof Rzączyński. The film was commissioned by the National Audiovisual Institute.

Since 2006 we’ve been shooting pictures for a documentary directed by Aneta Popiel-Machnicka. The main character is Weronika Frodyma, an outstanding Polish ballet dancer about to perform on the stage of the Berlin Opera House.
The pictures for the film have been shot in Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Las Palmas and Berlin. We still have to shoot the last pictures in Berlin. The film is co-produced by the Documentary Department of TVP2 and the project is part-financed by the Polish Film Institute. |
On 15th December 2011 at 18.00 Cinema Muranow is showing the premiere of Krzystof Rzaczynski’s film Love Europe The World of Zygmunt Bauman. The film was made as part of the Cultural Programme of the Polish EU Presidency. The central character in the film is the world renowned philosopher and sociologist, Zygmunt Bauman, expert and commentator on the Holocaust and one of the creators of the concept ”a liquid modern world”.
After the screening you are invited to a meeting with the director, led by Radio Trojka journalist, Ryszard Jazwinski. |
On Wednesday, 27th October 2010 at 19.15 Channel TVP Culture broadcasts the premiere of our film CITY ON THE BLACK DRAGON RIVER which we made in 2004 on the Russia China border in the town of Blagoveshchensk.

In cooperation with East Studio we have started the footage for our new documentary on a freelance basis for The National Audiovisual Institute.
The central figure of the film is the world renowned culture theorist, sociologist, philosopher and essayist, Zygmunt Bauman. Completing the picture of the professor are Zygmunt Bauman’s daughters who attempt to talk about their eminent father from their own private perspectives. Footage is shot in the homes of the main characters, both Israel and England, but also in Warsaw where everyone meets up after years when the professor receives his gold medal, the Gloria Artis; an award for Merit to Culture. Screenplay and director for the film is Krzysztof Rzączyński. The making of the film is for the European Cultural Congress as part of the Cultural Programme of the Polish EU Presidency in 2011. |
On 30th May 2006 at 14.00 in the Blue Hall Cinema Pod Baranami there is a special viewing of the film City on the Black Dragon River directed by Aneta Popiel-Machnicka. The screening is part of a series of documentaries about The East for the 46rd Krakow Film Festival.
